exposure is seeking submissions for a TEACH essay for the Spring 2008 issue.

The TEACH feature profiles a photography school or program, focusing on curriculum development and overall teaching vision. The profile can focus on an undergraduate, graduate, high school, or other program that is committed to the ongoing development of photographic education.

As an example, the essay in the Fall 2007 issue is "A New Curriculum for a New Generation: Introducing Students to Photography at the Corcoran College of Art + Design" written by instructors Andy Grundberg and Claudia Smigrod.

If you are interested, please send a 1 to 2-page proposal to carla@spenational.org or to the address below. All submissions will be considered.






exposure welcomes submissions from photographers, historians, critics, writers, professors, instructors, and students. Preference is given to SPE members but membership is not required for publication in exposure.

Deadlines:
Submissions are accepted year-round. exposure is published bi-annually in Spring (April) and Fall (October).

Essays:
Please submit an abstract or outline of a proposed paper of no more than 2 typewritten, double-spaced pages. Include your name, institutional affiliation, if any, and contact information. If your essay is selected, you will be asked to submit the full-length manuscript at that time.

Images:
We accept submissions from image makers in any of the following formats/media:

Slides
Copy prints (Please do not submit original photographs. We cannot be responsible for them.)
CD or DVD
URL

Please do not submit image files larger than 1MB each via E-mail.

Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope for the return of materials. Otherwise, we will dispose of/recycle all materials received.

All issues $15, with exception of double issues $30 each. Please list volume/number of issue and quantity. Add $2 per issue for shipping ($10 shipping outside the U.S.).
